Level 3 ks1 SATs

I am looking for a breakdown of things you have to achieve to get level 3c, 3b and 3a in KS1 SATs in maths, reading and writing. Does anyone know where i can find a chart?
Also, do children who get level 3 in maths automatically get one in science too?

Not automatic link between math+sci (speaking from experience of 2 DC).

It doesn't really work like that-sub levels aren't specified in the NC, they have been created more recently to allow schools to track progress.

It's better if you think of the c as being a 'low' level 3, b as being a 'secure' level 3 and an a as being a 'high' level 3. The low level 3s will have achieved a L2 and some aspects of level 3 (not necessarily the same aspects that another level 3c child will have), the 'secure' will have covered a lot more and the 'high' will have covered most of the L3 work and also started some level 4.

I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear, but that's sort of the way it works. You can have five children who are all 3c who will be good/bad at and have covered different things.

In answer to your second point, no, children who get a level 3 in maths don't automatically get one in science.

As far as I am aware, in KS1 there is no breakdown at level 3. The breakdown only occurs in KS2.

And no, science and maths are 2 different subjects and therefore assessed individually. Science is not normally tested, but is based on years work and teacher's assessment.

Children are assessed using sub levels in most schools now (due to data tracking within the school) but the schools will often only report the level (with no fine grade) in Y2 and Y6.

Thanks for the replies. I thought there was a chart somewhere that shows things that equate to a 3c, 3b etc.

Those links are an interpretation of the NC and are not universally used.

Although, DD at end Yr3 did do the optional QCA's so was given sub levels this year Confused

A lot of schools do report the sublevels, but they don't have to. They also usually report the teacher assessment rather than the test scores.
