5 Year olds Party

My DS is 5 in Oct and starts school in Sept. He will not know anyone in his class and I was thinking about inviting the whole class of 25 children to his party to help him bond with others in his class. I wondered what the norm was.

thank you

We did the same for DD and she had a great 5th birthday. Its a fantastic chance to informally meet other parents too go for it

I think all parties in reception year where whole class parties (similar number to you) for dd even though all but 3 of the children had gone through pre-school together. I imagine for classes who don't have as much history it is even more of a good idea.
Now dd is finishing Y2 the number of whole class parties are much less, only had a couple this year. We have had more of all the girls or all the boys. I know next year for dd if she has a 'party' it is more likely to be a couple of her best friends doing cinema/bowling/skating with a pizza lunch. Ds will be starting reception so he will have his first birthday party and we will invite the whole class.
