Just that really. Roughly which levels would you expect a child to be at (end of Y3) to suggest i) selective and ii) super selective potential? Thanks

Good grief Shock

According to some of the replies here, dd1 would get into a selective grammar. I somehow thought they were much harder to get into, maybe muddled them with super selectives?! Or possibly underestimating her Blush

Not that its relevent really, as none around here anyway....

Oh, I stand corrected Grin.

We are not in a Grammar area, nor will any of the DC's be going private, so hadn't looked into the age thing in any depth.

Wow, is it possible to be a level 5 at the end of year 3? I don't think my kids' school would be able to differentiate sufficiently.

My state primary taught to the appropriate age level i.e. they would not be covering level 5 material in year 3 let alone get the child to sit a level 5 paper.

Maybe the poster has her kid at a very academic primary.

The OP hasn't been back though, we do not know about her DC's ability.

Normal primary but the G&T provision is excellent. They give as much attention to it as special needs. I know we have been very lucky.

So, is it assumed that a dc would get a better education at a super selective school, even though it is a state school? how does the teaching compare to an indie? Do supers follow the nc as they are state?
