How much does your school charge for pupil discos?
The price of ours has shot up this time and it doesn't even include refreshments
It is 45 minutes long btw.

Our school had its first school disco last month. It was 1hr long with a cup of squash and a cake for £3

Labootin · 28/05/2012 14:21

45 mins ?
Thats surprisingly short !

Irrc in England it was £3.50 two years ago (for and hour with haribo and walkers crisps)

in Dubai ( where we now are) it's equivalent of £6 and you have to buy popcorn or water

happyglamper · 28/05/2012 14:22

£1.50 lasts 2 hours, drinks, crisps, glo sticks etc all available to buy on the night. Prepared to wave goodbye to a fiver at least.

Water doesn't come from a tap here btw ."hence payment

yorkshire84 · 28/05/2012 14:24

The school splits up Key stages. I have one in each ks so its going to be a huge pain with lots of hanging around.

i dont do them, the kids always end up crying and hot and bothered. So £0. Smile

LST · 28/05/2012 14:28

Bloody hell when I was a sproglet I used to hand my pound in and I felt like I was there all night!

Houseworkprocrastinator · 28/05/2012 14:33

The last one was £1.50 and they got a hot dog and a drink. (that was the one they had after school without the parents there)
There was one at Xmas with the parents and they charged for food and had stalls and it cost me a fortune.

RaisinBoys · 28/05/2012 15:12

£2 with small snack and drink

KS2 disco is hour and a half - early evening

KS1 disco is 1 hour - straight after school

Nursery and Recep have a free "disco" in their classrooms during the day. They found it a little overwhelming when they had it with the older children.

Non uniform day for all!

redskyatnight · 28/05/2012 15:14

DD (KS1) - £1.50 including drink and biscuit, 1 hour

DS (KS2, different school) - £1.50 including drink, 1.5 hours

GateGipsy · 28/05/2012 15:27

I like that RaisnBoys. Can I ask how big your school is? Every year we want to do something like this for the whole school but it has been difficult to organise. We're a four form entry school.

At the moment we do a year six leavers disco, which we (the PTA) organise and pay for. The younger KS2 children get a bit jealous though. I wonder if we did a paid for disco at the end of the year for the Y3 to Y4's?

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 28/05/2012 15:34

KS1 is from 6pm to 7pm, parents must stay, £1.

KS2 is from 7pm to 8pm, no parents, £1.

Tuck, water, glo sticks available to buy.

GateGipsy · 28/05/2012 15:44

Squirted how many can you take? Do you have limited tickets or are you able to fit all the kids and parents in the hall? Do you get complaints from parents with older and younger kids who have difficulty doing both? Many of our parents are solo or have partners that work late/nights.

MirandaWest · 28/05/2012 15:47

At DCs school it's £2 for an hour with drink and crisps included, tuck shop extra :)

Blatherskite · 28/05/2012 15:57

I paid £4 for me and DS to go to his School disco last week. I had to go, he's in reception but no unaccompanied children were allowed anyway.

Drinks and food were extra.

It started at 7pm and went on 'til late though.

RandomAdams · 28/05/2012 15:58

10 for two adults and child. 15 for two adults and 2+ children.

This includes free non alcoholic drinks, nibbles, disco teacher to teach kids disco moves and routines to get them onto dance floor. Alcoholic drinks not included.

RandomAdams · 28/05/2012 15:59

Disco lasted from 5pm to 8pm.

Dee03 · 28/05/2012 16:05

Ds is in yr 6
2 hour disco £2
Includes unlimited drinks and a bag of mini haribo

4goingon14 · 28/05/2012 16:15

My DD has one this week. It is £2 for children and .50p for adults. It is 1 hour and doesn't include any food or drink.

choppychopster · 28/05/2012 16:23

EYFS and KS1 have an hour, KS2 have an hour and a half. Both cost £1. No refreshments included but plenty of sweets, crisps, drinks and glosticks to buy, so typically spend £4 -5. TBH an hour is long enough before I have to drag a sweaty 5yo DDbaway from running round in circles to JLS tunes.
