The DDs are leaving their lovely school in two weeks, I'd like to get some gifts

Reception and nursery. Their teachers, nursery nurse, TAs have been fabulous. What would be a nice thank you/ goodbye gift?

There's a lot of staff in the two classes so I thought maybe an individual gift for key workers and a joint class gift. I'd LOVE to make a class gift like a hungry caterpillar playset but realistically it's not going to happen.

Are plants too boring? Or just rubbish if you're not a planty person? What about the class gift? Any ideas gratefully received.

I bought nice bottles (2 or 3 of each) of hand wash and hand moisturiser last year. I still see it sitting beside the sink when I pop in with my youngest so it was a useful gift I think. Staff are always washing their hand so nice to have something good.

Other thing I though of was a bit caffetiere and some bags of coffee for their lunch hour (ours eat in the nursery) - so much nicer than instant! I would give an adult gift myself, not something for the kids.

I used to be a teacher. I never expected gifts but nice ones I got were flowers a small gift voucher a letter of thanks from a lovely parent.

I'm a teacher. A lovely letter or card is much more appreciated, and treasured, than a gift. I've kept home made cards from children and letters from patents for many years now. I can't think of any gifts that I've kept as long.

I've been buying vouchers for the past two years. Last year I found a company who made vouchers which could be used at dozens of different shops/websites/resturants. Much better idea than having to second guess what voucher suited best.

For the class gift what about a puppet?

Puppets By Post do some ace ones.

I've bought classes board games in the past. They tend to go down well. Or a DVD. If you wanted it to be educational, then maybe a MFL dvd? It's an easy way to learn without realising it.

As a teacher, I appreciate the sentiment of all the gifts I receive, but I don't use any of the body washes or lotions etc. I have very sensitive skin so it's like rubbing chilli into my body! Some people may enjoy that experience, but not me!

I always enjoy wine! One of the best presents I received was a drumstick lolly wrapped in a lottery ticket! Probably a total of £1.12 to produce, but I sat in and watched the lottery for the first time in about 10 years! I thought it was unusual and fun. If I'd won, they wouldn't have seen me for dust, but that's a different issue!
