What are your experiences with labels

Our school sends letters of complaint that the playing field is strewn with unidentified clothing, and would the parents do something about it? I'm not wild about the idea of sewing labels into anything and everything, but if needs must, I suppose. But I was hoping somebody would know of a magical iron on label.

I have easy2name and they stick. No chance to get them out at all.

The stick on on DD's waterbottle look exactly as they looked when I stuck them on back in September.

Beanbags - most definately. I am certainly one for recycling!

I was disappointed with easy2name, I found stuckonyou to be better.

I use iron on labels, but a word of warning. I bought ds a lovely new blazer at vast expense for his new school. I ironed on a label and as I was waiting for it to stick, I wondered what the burning smell was. The lovely new blazer now no longer needs a label as it is the only one with a triangular shaped patch in the lining.

I use my name tags you can have dish washer proof stickers and or iron on and there is choice of colour. They also come really quickly most of the time the very next day

Why dont more of us sew I wonder?
It takes as long as getting the ironing board out? And you can do it sitting down with Wine

Dd has pink name sew in tags which I sew as hooks on cardy's etc so not only can she spot her name in the top easily, she actually hangs things up! Y R.

I've been using these same tags since nursery age 1. So probably in minus £ now compared to iron on.
But for lunch box and bottles/ shoes, I use easy 2 name
They've survived daily dishwasher washing.

I'm a sewer. Have been ever since, as an 11 year old about to go to boarding school, my mum made me sew all my own labels on every item on the (extensive0 clothing list. As all my stuff came from the second hand shop, I had to remove all the old labels first [bitter? moi?].

Sew on labels stay in for YEARS (still have a couple of towels with my own name labels on, 30 years on), and the whole job for 2 children takes about an hour once a year.

We have never lost a piece of school clothing yet, and DS is in Year 6.

I do use Sharpie pens for shoes, though, as my experience of stick on labels is dire. Maybe my children just have sweaty feet....
