Advice on infant schools in Twyford, Berkshire

I hope someone can help, I am looking to move from Kent to Twyford and my daughter will be starting school in September 2013, I wanted to know if anyone could advise me about the schools in Twyford. Are both Colleton and Polehampton highly regarded and are either over subscribed? If you live in Twyford should it be relatively easy to get into either (where I currently am you can live less than quarter of a mile of a good school and still not be able to get in). Also would be keen to know what the pre schools in the area are like. Many thanks.

St Nicholas in Hurst is supposed to be really good.

I am considering the montessori nursery at the Dolphin for DS- it has a glowing report. They don't do 'free hours only' places though- not sure if that makes a difference to you.

This document shows how last year's admissions worked out and how far away the last child admitted lived.

Crazies Hill is a great little village primary school in a lovely location, and only a short drive from Twyford -definitely worth a look.

Basically if you live one end of Twyford (or Charvil) you get into Polehampton and if you live the other end you get into Colleton. Both schools have "outstanding" OFSTEDs but Colleton is expanding to take more children. We moved our daughter from Colleton to Dolphin as she was really unhappy there and the large number of kids made learning difficult. She loves Dolphin and I would recommend it to anyone. I've also got friends with kids at Polehampton who are really happy with it.
