Northbridge vs. Cavendish

I have to decide where to send my 4 year daughter between these two schools. I asked a lot around and looked at this website but strangely enough parents seem to be aware of either one or the other school, so I am not getting much of a sense of which one is better. I used to think Northbridge was more academic, but now I am not so sure any more. Does anybody have an opinion?

I don't really know much but didn't want your post to go unanswered! People I know love the Cavendish, their only complaint seems to be that it doesn't take boys all the way through. I'm not sure how academic it is, I'm not sure you wouldn't have to keep an eye on that in the same way you would if your child was at a state school (which would put me off as being able to leave all that to the school would be a big plus).
Isn't Northbridge going through some convulsions at the moment? Or will that only affect the Senior School?

Yes, Northbridge is having some big changes but I am not sure how it will affect children who enter nursery at the moment. I did some more research and everybody seems really enthusiastic about Cavendish. It does look like a lovely school.
Thank you for your advice!!!!

We chose to take our children out of Northbridge because of the changes to the ethos of the school after NBH was purchased by the Cognita group. The school became a lot less nuturing and I imagine that as the school expands (they are currently merging with the Royal School in Hampstead) this move away from nuturing individuality towards a more 'one size fits all' culture will continue. One of our children is now at an academic senior school with a number of girls who attended Cavendish and they all loved it. Hope this helps.

Thank you, this was extremely helpful!!! I had a serious thinking with my husband and we decided to send her to Cavendish. Everybody seems to think it is a lovely environment and if they can get in senior schools which are academic afterwards then I do not need anything else!
Thank you!!!

Definitely Cavendish, Northbridge is undergoing major changes and not for the better, also girls often do better at all girls schools especially friendly ones like cavendish.
