I just wondered where the cut off is for teacher assessment. Dd's reception teacher told us they submit the eyfs scores at may half term and I wondered if it xas the same for ks1. Have been giving dd some help in maths and would like an idea of how long I've got to make a difference in y2.

Obviously I'll continue to support her beyond the cut off date in the aseas she is weakest.

It varies - we have to do ours the 2nd week in June, so other LEAs will have deadlines close to that.

Why stop though? The only difference between the levelled work in Year 2 from the work in Y1 or Y3 is that the level is reported - why not help her at other times too? Confused

Thanks feenie, I did say I was going to continue beyond the levels being reported.. I have always taken my role in my children's education seriously and reinforced what they learn at school at home. I have recently discovered she finds mental maths difficult so shall continue to find opportunities/activities through the remainder of this year the summer and beyond.

Sorry about that, caffeinated, so you did! Blush

It's ok if I were a teacher I'd be cheesed off with parents that only care at results time.

Thanks caffeienated, but I probably ought to read properly before getting snippy Blush. End of term fatigue - was at governors' till late last night. No excuse - good on you for the support you plan to give your dd. If there's anything else you need support with, let me know.

ICT games.com is a site I find very useful for Y2 Maths.

That's really kind thank you. I have noticed that one of her targets is repeated addition also can you shed any light on that or is it simply 1 cat has 4 legs so 2 cats have 8 legs?

You're right - it's a precursor to multiplication, as you say - Numberline Jump Maker on ICT games deals with that, or this game on Maths Racing.

Excellent. Thanks for the clarification. Hope you get some relaxation over the holidays.
