What is not allowed in a childs lunchbox?

I put in DD's lunchbox today: One small kitkat (came from a multipack from sainsburys, were on offer) Cucumber sticks, carrot sticks, cheese sandwich & a drink. DD came home telling me she got told off for having the kitkat in her lunchbox. DD doesnt like crisps & i only ever put 1 chocolate bar or a biscuit or 2 in there, the rest is all healthy stuff she does eat. So what exactly is it that im NOT allowed to put in her lunchbox aside from the obvious packet of haribo's etc? I was under the impression when she started that school that fizzy drinks, chewy sweets & packets of sweets brought single & not from a multipack were not allowed.

Considering the shit that goes into school dinners, it's fucking hypocritical how far the power drunk lunch police take things sometimes.

DS's school can get a bit crazy at times, but we haven't knowingly fallen foul of the regulations. We generally eat quite well at home though, and keep the treats for the weekends so I suppose that's why.

Frika, DS's school apparently got rid of the good and labelling the year before he started, or I would've made a fuss about it.

We have a history of eating disorders on DP's side of the family, so preventing the DCs having food issues is something we're really conscious of.

In answer to the OP I've given up trying. Ds2 gets a chocolate spread sandwich, a few grapes which he tends to leave, a chocolate biscuit or two, and a packet of crisps which he also leaves.

Oh and when I've managed to buy the right BRAND of mini fromage frais, one of those too.

It's hopeless. Nothing gets eaten if it's all healthy pLUS the only reason he gives for not eating everything is that he would miss play time if he did.

I can't get my head around it. Do they know nothing about small children?

Btw ds1 has school meals and all he ever gets is cake and pudding, after the obligatory pizza and potato wedges.

Stupid system it is.

Our school allows anything except glass containers.

We are not allowed chocolate, crisps or fizzy drinks. They do allow cake though, and I have managed to sneak in chocolate chip muffins before.

I'm glad they at least allow the cake, because they have the fruit snack rule (one in the morning/one in the afternoon). By the time DD has had her banana and juice at breakfast, a piece of fruit for morning snack, a fruit bar or similar in her packed lunch, another piece of fruit for her afternoon snack, she is absolutely sick of fruit, and to be honest I'm not sure I blame her. It is enough to put you off!

They tried to ban squeezy yogurts at our school (frubes etc). There was a parent riot, the police nearly got involved (I kid you not) it is referred to as "yogurtgate".

Grin re yoghurtgate

Those tubes are the work of the devil though, as is yoghurt itself.
