A teacher charges £30/hr to tutor some of his own pupils, is it ok?

A teacher at my ds' primary school has been tutoring 3 children in his class for a while now. Few of us, parents at the school, think it is tottaly wrong. What do you think?

I agree, Zippy should not do the tutoring, but can recommand one. The trouble is when the teacher tutor the child outside the school hour, she certainly will form a better relationship with this child, which will affect the other children in the class.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I may suggest someone from my previous school who I hold in high regard. The Dad asked me again today had I considered it. I'll stick with the status quo but once again, thank you for all your replies.

I can see the very bad case scenario, zippy.
If you tutor with fee, some others who can afford may demand the same for their children. those who can't may resent and complain to school.

If you tutor for free, others may demand the same.

Where do you draw the line to say no?
Either way, I assume it won't go so well.... It's a wise choice not to.

I would not tutor my own students. I don't know why but it feels slightly unfair although I can't put my finger on why
