My DS has a new DSi purchased with his birthday money!

anyone know where I can get one please?

Downloading games onto these cards are illegal and not buying the games deprives the industry of millions of pounds every year. (It costs jobs)

I hope that nobody replies with the answer.

You can buy legal copies of games for not that much if you don't want the most famous/recent. eg Amazon has Spongebob, Horrid Henry, Toy Story 3 all at £10 for new.

You can get them in most independant second hand phone/gaming shops and online.

The cards themselves are not illegal. They can be used to upgrade the DS into a media player and enable you to load previously purchased films and mp3 tracks onto it. You can also download 'homebrew' games i.e games by a would be game developer who has not yet made it rather than Nintendo etc.

To download branded games onto is illegal and is being monitored more and more.

Amazon and independant second hand shops are best for actual, legal games.

Agree with crazygracieuk, please just buy the games. Getting a multi card is no better than illegally downloading music or movies.

The great thing about DS games is that they last ages so check out eBay and amazon for used ones, as well as stores like Game and HMV.

Unlike CD-type games like wii/xbox, they aren't prone to damage, so no need to buy new.

We just got Professor Layton for £7 used on eBay, it's perfect and we will sell it on after and get the next one - a new copy costs up to £30!

You also need to be very careful when connecting to the internet via the DSi when using illegal copies of games as Nintendo have, allegedly, devloped a software that will 'brick' i.e. render useless, the console if it detects an illegal copy of the game is being used.

The sale and import of a certain card was made illegal in the UK last year. The courts ruled that the "playing homebrew games" argument was not an acceptable argument. A person (or company) who wanted to develop a game for low cost could easily do it in the web or self publish on the Android marketplace or iTunes.

I've just realised that the OP probably means the games manufactured in th Far East where a company has disregarded trademarks applicable elsewhere and installed these games en masse onto a cartridge.

I would still ask the OP not to buy pirate games as there are many people with jobs in the industry and piracy costs jobs.

Ohh I thought you meant official ones with lots of games like the 42 classic games one I have! I had no idea you could get illegal ones!
