Hi. Does anyone have any experience of this learning package which is now being seen in schools? My wife and I are concerned that our schools priority should be to teach the three r's rather than use elearning packages such as this. I would like to know what other parents feel and what their experience of this is. Is it a good thing to have 5 year olds worrying about email and submitting homework online or should they be reading books and writing with pens and pencils?

I don't know anything about it so can't comment really. Just to say, I very much doubt that pencil grip is being neglected as well as the other skills as after all they will be doing says next year and schools are judged on them. I should think the school is thinking about what is expected of all children in the future. How many of our jobs were around when we were their age? Also I expect a lot of schools will be going down the email homework approach as secondaries have been doing it for a while. Admitedly 5 is very young but I depends on the homework. I hope ive given food for thought. However, if you have any real concerns go and see the teacher I'm sure they will explain the theory and address any issues.
