DD2 will start reception in September. A good friends dd will also start in the same school. It's a 3-form entry and I would very much rather they not be in the same class. I'm planning to speak to the school before classes are allocated and simply say that the 2 girls don't get along and would be better separated. Does that sound reasonable? With 90 children it should be quite easy for them to be in different classes, right?

Well, they're not little friends. They will be drawn to each other as they are very familiar with each other. Friend's DD may know some of the other children but she does enjoy bossing DD2 about and, as mentioned above, unsupervised times are the worst. I think if they're in different classes they'll have more of a chance to find their own friends.

I've got a situation at the moment. A child in nursery deliberately hurt one of the girls in my class at playtime (scarring her face) they aren't friends they aren't in the same class yet every time the nursery children are in the playground, when the older children are there, she makes straight for him.

Goodness, these children just don't know what is good for them, do they? Wink

What are you doing to resolve that situation? What wold you suggest?

It isn't very often that nursery children are in the normal playground but we have workmen in their area at the moment so are policing both children to ensure there isn't another incident but it just takes a second of distraction ...
