Does it affect your relationship.

This is really playing on my mind even though it's not going to happen till next year. I work PT 3-7. I am only 5 mins from home so I'm home by 7.05.

When dd1 starts reception, I will not see her from the time I drop her off at school till the time get in from work.

After school she will be looked after by dh, he works FT till 2.45pm and then I start work. It works as we can't afford childcare but I worry about not seeing dd1 and if this will affect our relationship.

Any experience?

DH takes DD to school in a morning, but then doesn't see her til about 6:45pm, 7:30pm two nights due to her activities. Been like this since she started school. They still have an amazing relationship. DH really values his holidays with us too.

I love that mine see DH as much as me. I do 2 days drop off and pick up and he does 2 days and his mum does one. They're always dropped off and picked up by someone who is close to them, so they cansort out upsets and homework. I roll in at 6.30 and have a cuddle and put them to bed!

mine see me while they are getting dressed or undressed on weekdays
it doesn't seem to have affected them - apart from the fact that they prefer the cooking at after school club and have broadened friendships - mind you dd is y1 ...
no partner, but lots of friends who are becoming a bit of an extended family over past months

She will be fine with your DH. I work 4 days a week with a long commute. DH is in the military and away a LOT. We have a mothers help that comes to the house at 6 15am, when I leave (DD still asleep). She gets DD ready and takes her to school. DD then goes to afterschool club until I pick her up between 5 and 5 30. Occasionally I can work from home and take her to school in the morning. So as you can see, there are some weeks when our time is limited to 2 1/2 hours max in the evening (she is 5 and in year 1.) It works - mothers help is amazing (has worked for us for 2 1/2 years) and so DD is happy. If mothers help wasn't good it would have fallen apart long before now I think.

With a father full of fun and a mother happy to read stories at crack of dawn, something tells me your daughter is going to be fine :)
