Hi there

we are looking into fundraising ideas to revamp our school playground and as one of our fundraisers are interested in the give a donation in return for getting your name on a brick/plaque type thing. Wondered if anyone has done this before, and if so if you have any suggestions and tips for

  1. encouraging people to sign up
  2. what makes a good thing to get engraved Especially keen that the item doesn't eat up most of the cost of the donation!

Looking forward to learning from you all!

We had one at our school (bricks) - not sure how much it raised, but past and present families bought one. It was made into a big raised bed and has flowers planted in it!

My mum was involved in something like this for the RNLI when they were raising funds for a new boathouse.
Didn't actually engrave a brick but if you bought one - they had 3 levels Bronze, Silver and Gold at different prices - you got a certificate and your name was written in a big book by someone who did beautiful calligraphy.

DC were bought one each and we bought one as a family.
Think they raised over £15,000 but it was for the RNLI which everyone supports locally.

thanks Guys - the book idea is a good one if we find the brick route too costly!
