My 7 year old tells me she has been taught at school that God made her and abotu heaven, she asks why we dont go to church etc. We are not religious although i have no problem with her being taught about religion im not sure i like the idea of her thinking that God made her etc. Is this normal? im just ignoring it at the moment i dont want to get into an argument with her about God so i just smile and change the subject/

When my DS2 was about 6, the local vicar visited his infant school. I was an in-training TA at the time and was present in the hall when the vicar said "Does anyone have any questions?" . DS puts his hand up..."How can you be SURE God exists?" Flustered Vicar.."Do you believe in God?" DS2... "No".

A quick ending to the session, and a very embarrassed Mummy left the hall! However, the Deputy Head congratulated me afterwards on the fact that my DS had asked the question! Shock Blush

I am,I guess, agnostic and have always taught my children that they should work out for themselves what to believe. I braved the wrath of my Mother and Mother-in-law by not having my children christened, as I believe belonging to a faith is something you should choose for yourself, not because your Parents decided it.

Jam - you should be proud of your son! Good for him.

Grimma - Oh I am proud of him...he's 11 now and still feels the same. (I was just embarrassed at the time, because I'm not the same as him and find it hard to challenge authority Sad)
