Instructions for non-readers

I wonder if you could help...I need to
make a type of treasure hunt for 4 years olds (so just starting school). I'm not sure what the best way is to give the clues as obviously most won't be able to read even simple sentences.
Any ideas how I could give I instructions visually? Thanks

Photos or clip art of the internet. If you have access to a laminator, they could have a card each to help them identify where the treasure should be. Keep it simple, and may be a little treat at each point.

Thanks for your replies. The 'hunters' are going to be police officers searching for swag so they could collect chocolate coins on the way to finding the swag bag full of coins. If the clue shows, say, a photo/clip art of a chair with an arrow pointing to the underneath they will have to look under the chairs to see which has the coins and the next clue. I'm starting to see how that would work. Thanks
