Giving a book to the school library

If your child wanted to give a book to the school library at the end of their last year at that school, who would you get them to give/ present it to? Their class teacher, even though it's not really for them?

Yes - it's slightly different, but my daughter wanted to give a book to the class library. We wrapped it up and gave it to the teacher, explaining that it was a present for the class, at the same time as giving her a bunch of flowers.

As a school librarian - what a FAB idea!!
Often I get kind-hearted donations - but not in a good condition.
Budgets being what they are this is a great idea!!

If yr school does not have a designated librarian (there aren't that many around!) then yes the class teacher.

Thanks both. DS1 only really had the opportunity to see/ give things to his class teacher and TA on his last day so he gave it to the teacher "for the school library" :).

We've got a special school bookplate for donations to the library that the child writes on.
It's a great idea to give something to all, rather than just the teacher.

We did this when DS1 left reception - instead of getting his teachers (he had two) presents we gave the class a bunch of DS1's favourite books! So no flowers or choccies for the teachers that year but it was what DS1 wanted to do!
