Teaching children with deafness issues

Beginning to panic about my class next year!
I'll have 15 boys and 4 girls, in a mixed Y1/Y2 class. Shock
I have just been told 3 of the boys have hearing loss to varying degrees (One has only 30% hearing in one ear and nothing in the other, the other two have glue ear, but possibly other issues too)
I've taught for nearly 10 years, but never had a deaf child in my class before.

Can anyone give me some pointers about teaching children with hearing issues?

I wish you were my ds's teacher! I was going to mention the problems with idioms and the 'holes' in basic language but Brigit has mentioned them. Ds also has some social problems as he can't follow conversations with many voices at the same time and this has led to bullying.
We have had teachers say to him 'Tell us if you don't hear' but I have pointed out that is daft as how is he meant to know that he didn't hear? We have also had an IEP with 'the TA will talk to ds about the importance of listening'. So be very proud of yourself for caring about your HI pupils!

As everyone else said, but also reminding yourself all year. DD has 25% hearing loss due to mastoid abscesses as a baby. This year her teacher forgot (I'm sure you won't) half way through the year and she was moved to the edge of the carpet group so there was no way she could lip read, suddenly her learning and behaviour deteriorated dramatically. On correction of her position on the carpet it all came right again.
