feel really bad!

I knew dd finished school this week, but thought it was 2pm on Thurs for some reason. dh got call today at 2.15 to ask why dd hadn't been picked up as they finished today at 2pm! Had to send grandma to collect her (she only lives 5 mins away) but I feel awful. And because we though she finished tomorrow we didn't bring in her card and present for the teacher. Bet they think we are horrible parents now :(

Oh and to top it all off, have realised we have overpaid dinner money by £10 and it is too late to do anything about it now...

Sometimes I hate being a working parent. All the other parents at dds school seem so organised.

Dd went last summer on a farm holiday. I was convinced it was 7 days, and had made plans around it. Luckily the organiser rang me on day 5 to double check whether dd was coming back on the train, or if we were collecting her and said, well I'll see you in the morning then. Me wasn't expecting her home til the day after .

My poor darling dd (aged 6) came that close to being deposited at the Gare du Midi with her case and no-one to meet her whilst we would have been having lunch/sex or something. I felt physically sick til I had actually her back home. It's not that they would have left her alone or anything, but the thought of her little face when mummy didn't turn up still makes me shudder.

Present can be given next term and you won't be the only one and teachers generally appreciate not expect gifts so they won't think you are awful.

Dinner money can be cared forward to next term.

The best present is a letter or card by your own child IME anyway. And some teachers are in for a few days (ie till the end of the week) when term ends as I understand it so it may be worth sending it in anyway.

The administrators will pass it on by post if it does miss them - there will be someone there answering the mail!

Just this week I forgot both my dds non-uniform days. dd2 is at secondary school (she should remember herself really ho hum) and dd3 is in junior school. Managed to rescue both mistakes (as we always do, one way or another) you have to laugh or you'll cry!

I took my son to school on an inset day. He protested all the way there. I behaved so superior on that walk there on how I knew exactly when the inset days were....

I wasn't behaving so superior on the long walk back home with a mocking son, whilst I was on my mobile to work as I tried to persuade them to let work at home cos' I am a disorganised pillock.
