Hi I am appealing for a year 3 place for my dd who has ADHD. We are trying to get her into a closer school that will much better meet her needs. She has no statement.
What I want to ask is the information that I provided when I sent off form to appeal people do I have to read through all this again when I go to the actual appeal or do I just give them any new information?? I didn't want to read out a whole a4 sheet of info that I've already sent to them if they've already read it and then add extra as well. I do have quite important extra info to add (her current school has just been put in special measures and is failing kids with SEN) so need to get this in. So will the panel have read all the info I sent to them prior to appeal and will I need to read this out again during appeal??
Thank you

The panel will read everything you send in before the hearing, you might think about writing a letter with bullet points to highlight your main issues to accompany your evidence.

You should write a presentation to give at the hearing which should include all the information you want the panel to know, rather than reading out everything you have already sent in.

You don't need to read out everything you've submitted - as Bubblecoral says the panel should already have read it - but it's no bad thing to remind them of the main points.

Remember, you are appealing to get into the new school, not to leave the current school. In your presentation, stick to the positives of what the new school could offer your child, rather than the negatives of the present school. So, highlight the benefits for your child of being in a closer school and what more they will be offering to meet her needs. I can understand your concern that the current school is in special measures, but that isn't in itself a reason for allowing the appeal. You need to bring out the 'prejudice' (disadvantage) that your child would suffer if not admitted to the school.
