11+ extra time for ADHD ?

Hello all
my daughter suffers with ADHD and I was wondering if she would be allowed extra time in her 11+ exams so that she can have at least some chance of completing the exams. She struggles to stay focused and I feel it would give her the placement at high school that she deserves if she got a little extra time, the school is to small to accommodate her sitting the exam with out her peers present, so would she have any grounds on being able to have extra time. I was going to ask the teacher at parents evening but it was cancelled because of Ofsted stuff. any advice would be great thank you :)

To qualify for extra time your DD would have to have an ed psych assessment and that assessment would have to recommend she has extra time (they do not all make this recommendation).

You need to talk to the SENCO at your DD's current school and find out what assessments are available via school. If school cannot/will not refer your DD to an ed psych you can do this privately but you will have to pay.

We got a private ed psych to write a report - our SENCO told me that the LEA EP wouldn't do assessments for ADHD. It cost £400 but it was worth it as DS got a quieter room with fewer distractions, use of a laptop for the writing bit and 25% extra time. We found ours through ACHIPP

The LEA and EP don't/can't do assessments for ADHD because it is a medical/health issue not an educational one diagnosis is usually made by a psychiatrist via CAMHs

The EP did an assessment to decide which educational interventions and adjustments DS needed due to his ADHD. He received his diagnosis through CAMHS three years ago.

OP probably already has a diagnosis as she says her dd suffers with ADHD and needs educational/examination recommendations from the ed psych.
