Nursery Class in Schools - how does yours offer the 15 hours?

I've been trying to persuade my child's school to look again at how they offer the 15 hours in their nursery (they do it in 6, 2.5 hour sessions - so 4 half days and then one day with two sessions, but you need to pick them up for the hour over lunch). I am trying to persuade them at least to cover the lunchtime session on the full days and preferable to offer more flexibility so you can do the six sessions over 3 or 4 days.

Does anyone have examples of how their school provides the 15 hours flexibly and views on how well it works? Really want to be able to go back to the school with some good examples of how it can work.

thanks

ours is very flexible. We can choose from all mornings (8.50 - 11.50), all afternoons (12.25 - 3.25), all day Mon, Tue and Wed am or Wed pm, all day Thur and Fri.

We need to provide packed lunch for the full days and pay a nominal couple of pounds.

Our nursery is also very flexible offering either morning (9-12) Or afternoon (12.30-3) Or all day (9-3) you can also add on a lunchtime to either the morning or afternoon session so 9-12.30 or 12-3. Mon to Fri

Hope that makes sense Confused

Very flexible here too. You can choose your sessions to just be a morning or afternoon, a morn or aft with lunchtime care aswell, or a full day. Working very well for parents who work say 2 days and want all of their sessions in 2 days. We have to give one terms notice of any changes, though, which is fair enough.

Would be very Hmm if I had to pick up for lunch and then drop back again, OP. Is it a very small nursery?

Ours offers

8.30-11.30 five times a week
OR
12.30-3.30 five times a week

No mixing of mornings/afternoons allowed.

This gives the staff an hour off for lunch.

Ours is 8.45 - 11.45 or 12.30 - 3.30 session which can be taken in any available combination (must be the same combination for at least half a term and subject to availability of sessions).
Most children do single sessions (most still like the 5 x morning/afternoon) a few parents choose 2 and a half days and pay for the lunchtime care which is provided in the CC.

Ours is 8:35 - 11:45 OR 12:20 - 3:20, 5 times a week.
no mixed mornings/afternoons allowed.

Ours only does mornings 9-12.

At ours they start in the afternoon as soon as they turn 3; 12.50 - 3.20, every day. The following September they switch to mornings; 8.50 - 11.20 every day.

There's no flexibility and I guess we don't get the full 15 hours but it doesn't bother me. I really wouldn't expect much flexibility from a School Nursery - I would from somewhere private.
