Just attended parents eve. The report that DD had read as if for another child and obviously lots of cut a paste. Challenged teacher on some of the negative points, he got defensive and to be honest it was like dealing with a sulky teenager. DD has worked really hard this year and this is very evident in her work and scores, we feel that she has not been given credit for this. She has by us but obviously needs from school. Teacher reports that her confidence is lacking, we have a really out going, go getting dd at home who meets allsorts of challenges with i'll have a go attitude. Teacher not able to shed any light as to confidence (this was not an issue last year, diff teacher) or how he feels he could help!
Any suggestions re how to increase confidence in school? How to tackle a stroppy teacher...we don't feel that daughter is being given credit or appropriate work for her level. The maths target that has been set is something she could do 3 years ago.
feel the most dissatisfied I have ever done following a parents eve.....dd still loves school though.

The teacher is being very unprofessional and unhelpful in criticising your dd for her lack of confidence, if she didn't also say what she was doing to help her address the problem, if there is one. I hate how some teachers label children in such a negative way.
