August/September baby - please help, I'm clueless!

Hi all

So am in an interesting position... DC1 is due on 8th September and I am probably going to have an ELCS which, as far as I know could take place either end Aug or beginning of Sept (this is all speculation at the moment, haven't discussed with consultant yet).

As I understand it (as I am pretty clueless), a baby born in Aug will be the youngest in the class, and one born in Sept, the eldest.

So, if I have the choice between Aug or Sept, which should I go for? What options are there for deferment/starting early? I'm in Oxfordshire BTW.

Thanks!

All teachers would say September! My DD is youngest in her class and it has been a bit tricky socially, fine academically. It's really hard to send them off to school at four - they are still babies.

Hi there, I’m finding it hard to understand when I should try for a baby if I wish for a September child. I fall very quickly (I’m very lucky) and the last two times we fell the first month of trying. I know this may not happen this time but I would like to try for a September baby. I have an avage 30 day cycle and seem to start my period around the 25-27th of each month. Do doctors date your pregnancy from your last period? With my other two I came off contraption and fell before having a period. But this time I’ve been contraption free for the last 5 months. I needed a dating scan the last times as I never knew when I got pregnant. I don’t want a August baby (if this can be helped). Any help would be wonderful Smile xxx

Try in Jan. DS was a Over Christmas oops and was born early sept, due mid sept.

Thank you, I’m just trying to get my head around when doctors/Midwife date your pregnancy. Some say from your last period and say your two weeks pregnant before your actually pregnant lol
