School demographics a consideration for African-American family

This summer we are moving to London from France (job transfer). We need to find a decent primary school for 7 y.o. DD (now in CE1 / grade 2 / year 3?) where she has exposure to the French language AND exposure to children of various ethnicities. From my limited research, it seems that the French schools in London are mostly non-diverse. I even read that the Lycee has been sued for racism [gasp]. We are a middle-class African-American family who has lived in France for the past 5 years and and we fully intend to return to America before DD reaches middle school. Any advice?

decide which is more important - do you want the teaching to be in French?

are you looking for state or private school?

You could try the bilingual stream of Wix Primary which is co-located with Ecole de Wix.

Either state or private - both ok. Not looking to have DD wrapped-up in some uppity/elite atmosphere just to keep up her French language skills, though. I'd like the instruction to be in French, as DD has done very well in the French program. She's very disciplined with healthy respect for the teacher (i.e., scared straight in the French system) and we'd like to keep it that way for a while.

I read a newspaper article about Wix. Sounds awesome. Seems like true-blue Londoners are banging the doors down to get in there. I'm doubting we'd get a second look. Are the rental rates for flats near Wix prohibitively expensive?
