A very large whisky afterwards!

Just take up the slack - try to field all domestic chores/childcare for a couple of days until it's all over. That's what me and my dh do for each other - God knows what we would do if they happened at exactly the same time! Confused

Feenie's right, provide food, drinks and look after the kids. Cancel any commitments you might have on his behalf.

My husband did take up the slack for my OFSTED and it was great Smile. He did try saying stuff like 'you'll be fine' but that didn't really help as much. I did like that he appreciated how much work I had put into it all Smile

a stiff drink afterwards is great! (and his favourite celebratory meal?)

Assuming will be removing children from house daytime, doing all duties. Plus cake. Lots of cake. Thanks for confirming what I thought. In days gone by i'd go in and do displays but I think two children in tow might not be what's required plus displays and tarted up rooms not key areas on the sef!

is he the head? could you proof read/tart up the SEF itself?

Feenie · 03/03/2011 21:38

SEFs are out now.

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 03/03/2011 21:40

Are they?? What's in, then?

hoxtonchick · 03/03/2011 21:43

we are still using ours & finding it useful (i am vc of govs).

littlebylittle · 03/03/2011 21:44

Hope he knows that, feenie!! WinkIs now the moment to tell him if not?!!!

Feenie · 03/03/2011 21:44

Nothing else, yet. Have Oftsed asked to see it though, hoxtonchick? Surely they won't, if they're obsolete?

Feenie · 03/03/2011 21:46

I would think he knows already, littlebylittle!

The Sef is still being used until at least august 2011. The ofsted inspection framework due in September appears to be delayed and pilots are on hold. The earliest for a full scale new framework will be January 2012. It is likely that as the sef supports the current framework it will continue as long as the framework does. Advice to schools due for inspection in the 2011-2012 window is to ensure the sef is downloaded prior to august 2012 in case they are inspected in the autumn.

Gottakeepchanging · 03/03/2011 21:51

Whoops prior to august 2011.

Announcing that the sef was discontinued was a govism. Ofsted clarified the next day that it was continuing until august 2011 (when new framework was planned)

The sef Is and always has been optional however ant school choosing not to do it isn't doing themselves any favours.

Feenie · 03/03/2011 21:52

Ah, thanks for the clarification, gottakeepchanging - shows what I know! Thankfully we were 'done' last year, so it won't be an issue for us.

hoxtonchick · 03/03/2011 21:53

yy, we had ofsted in jan & the first thing they asked for was the SEF.
