Any advice welcome on moving to Princes Risborough area

We are thinking of moving out of London and looking at the Princes Risborough area. I am interested in anyone's experience of the local area, particularly for young families. We have a 4 year old, a 2 year old and a baby on the way. Most importantly, what are the local state primary and secondary schools likes?

Any comment on the area would be appreciated.

Thanks x

Lots of good schools in the area, pretty countryside, generally pretty good for low crime etc. We moved in the opposite direction though after finding it a bit too suburban and 'gin & jag' belt for us. Be sure to be white/middle-class/conservative voting or you're not going to find many kindred spirits (although TBH I am all of those things and still didn't find anyone there in five years that I actually liked..). Not nearly so many working mums as in London, so lots of playgroups, coffee mornings etc (anathema to me). Each to their own though - many love it, and I suppose it depends what you're leaving behind - if you're in Chelsea now you'll hate it. If you're in a Tower Hamlets highrise, you'll be in heaven.

I like the area, and I say this as a Scot who moved to London many years ago. It works for our family and the people are friendly, so maybe I am white, middle classed and gin and jag type person. Grin

Actually, I dont like Gin!

Anyway, I have sent you a PM reply and I hope to have helped you. Schools etc are good, lots of green space, plenty to see and do locally and I know a good mix of working / SAHM in the local area.

Yes it is expensive to buy a 4 bed house here, but then its also expensive in other areas that arent quite as nice. Wink

Oh and if you are not the gin & jag type, definitely DEFINITELY avoid G Missenden.

Actually i'm happy to second the other poster, missenden and the chalfonts were the real extremes...
