South Kingston or North Kingston?

We are thinking of moving from North London down to Kingston and would really appreciate any advice from other Mums. We have a 20month yr-old boy and would like to know about the primary schools in particular - do the schools in South Kingston (sort of east of the Penrhyn Rd and down to Surbiton) have as good a reputation as the ones in North Kingston?

Plus, does anyone else have experience of moving out of London to Kingston, has it gone well, would people recommend moving there?! It seems lovely (apart from traffic!) but we don't know it that well so would love some feedback on the pros and cons generally

thanks a lot

I live in Kingston borough and would say the standard of schools is very high.
Surbiton state schools- Maple Infants, St Andrews & St Marks, Grand Ave , Christchurch.
Have you looked at New Malden- again excellent schools.

North North North. Look at Latchmere, Fernhill, St Agatha's, St Luke's and Alexandra. The Canbury area and Tudor drive area are both really nice.

Surbiton also has great schools but lots of dead zones--just slightly too far away from everything to get in. Berrylands is your best bet for Surbiton.

Lol at dead zones in Surbiton.
I do know what you mean though.
