Ds was thinking of going as Harry and his BF of Dino's, or Horrid Henry etc... but these arent fairy tales.

They have suggested Jack and the Beanstalk but how do you dress your son up as Jack for gods sake!!!

Any suggestions PLEASE!!!!

He was poor, so your son's scruffiest, dirtiest clothes and bare feet should do it. Take along a toy cow if you have one!

purplepidjin · 13/02/2011 22:06

Dress him all in green. Stick green paper leaf shapes all over him. Voila, he is the beanstalk.

Green facepaint and/or hat could be good Grin

onimolap · 13/02/2011 22:08

Could he be the cow? ("Nursie is a sad old woman with an udder fixation")

purplepidjin · 13/02/2011 22:12

Or send him as one of these fairy tales

dontdillydally · 13/02/2011 22:15

cant do the beanstalk coldnt expect him to be like that all day lol.

Still doesnt give me an answer on what to dress him in.

How old is he?

If you can do any fairytale you could do one of these

Gingerbread Man - brown trousers and T Shirt with large fake white buttons

The Wolf or woodcutter from Red Riding Hood

A dwarf from Snow White - green tunic, pointy hat and axe

purplepidjin · 13/02/2011 22:26

What about something from Aesop's Fables? Maybe a coat with a paper sun on one side and a cloud on the other?

onimolap · 13/02/2011 22:27

Grin imagining the consequences in the classroom of 7 small boys equipped with axes. Round up some of his friends and do it!

IlsaLund · 13/02/2011 22:28

That should have said fake axe!

Clary · 13/02/2011 23:37

Yes any kind of clothes plus a prop is the way to go.

Dick Whittington - bundle and cat; Prince Charming - sparkly shoe; Pied Piper - yellow and red clothes and a recorder! etc etc

Liking Ilsas's Gungerbread man, I was thinking of that one too.

Changeisagoodthing · 14/02/2011 07:24

Naked holding an apple. Adam- most traditional tale there is

Changeisagoodthing · 14/02/2011 07:25

Whoops thought bit was for dh not ds

Naked not good then

onimolap · 14/02/2011 07:27

But not exactly classified as a fairy tale. It it part of the sacred texts of three of the world's largest religions. Whether or not you believe it true, it would be unhelpful to give the idea it was a fairy tale, especially in multicultural areas.

Bloody hell onimolap, it was a joke.

dontdillydally · 14/02/2011 13:01

like the Dick Whittington - will go looking for a red spotty hankie as we speak! thanks
