My DD gets reading book every night or when she completes it, 10 spellings on Monday for test on Friday. One piece of homework on Thursday to be completed by Tuesdsay which is normally maths or English.
Depending on our weekend depends on how well it is done. Sometimes I know I can get DD to sit down and do it without much help other times she needs our help or to look up something on the computer. DS reception also gets homework.
It's hard because they can sometimes be too tired in the week to do anything. At the weekend we might go out for the day. We have swimming on Sunday and there are no other nap times for the toddler who is running about. We like to cook a roast to. I think it will get easier when toddler can watch a bit of TV for 30 mins. Saying this today both children required 1:1 help with homework (30 mins each). I do prefer it is I can sit down and year 2 can at least do most of her homework alone with the odd bit of help.
The children do have online programmes they can logon to where I don't have to be with them every second and can watch from a distance. Very helpful with more than one child although you can't substitute the 1:1 time.
