Ds1s h/w is writing a list of 4 things he did with mummy like starting with 'My mummy and me' for eg, My mummy and me went to the shops.
Isn't it 'My mummy and I'?
Am I right?(before I cross out all the 'me's and put in 'I's)

You're right. You wouldn't say "me went to the shops" - worrying if homework set by a teacher!Confused

hatwoman · 28/01/2011 16:18

if it is the subject - as in this case - then it's I. My mummy and I went to the shops.

If, however it is the object, then it would be me: The shopkeeper told Mummy and me he had run out of milk.

Basically the addition of "my mummy" makes no difference to whether it's I or me

McHobbes · 28/01/2011 16:18

You are correct yes. It should be 'mummy and I' or at a push 'me and mummy'.

hatwoman · 28/01/2011 16:20

no, not at a push, "me and mummy" would be wrong

DilysPrice · 28/01/2011 16:22

Hatwoman is right, remove the "mummy and" and work from that.

McHobbes · 28/01/2011 16:23

I know....but if the teacher is a grammatical thicket, that would be the best one might expect. Wink

Maybe they are going to all correct it at school together?
