Hoping that someone might be able to give me a bit of advice or been through similar?
We are wanting to appeal for a place for DD, who is currently on the waiting list, however I'm pretty sure from what I've read on here that at the moment we wouldn't win due to class size. She's currently in Year 1 and there is a combined reception, Year 1 class with 15 in each, so total of 30 to 1 teacher.
However Year 2 is taught as a separate year group and therefore ratio is 1 teacher to 15, and obviously it's then Year 3 after, which is then KS2 and I believe has more scope for going over 30.
I'm wondering if it's worth appealing, is the limit on the size set for each year, so they couldn't go over 15 or is it just that class can't go over 30. If we do appeal when to do it, do we have to wait for Year 2 to start and then appeal?
