HELP Keystage 2

I am at my wits end with DS. Can anyone help? I have twin?s a boy and girl aged 9 years of age and they are so different from a learning point of view. I never believed the whole thing re boys being behind girls but I do now. They are in the same class, do not sit beside each other but my DD is way ahead of my DS. Initially I had thought it was to do with behaviour and who they sit beside but that is not the case, as has been proved over the past two 3 years. I am just worried about their Keystage 2 my DD is doing well in both her English and Maths, my DS is doing fine at his maths but poor on his English. I initially went through homework?s with them together, but have now stopped this to try and give him a little more help. Normally DS would be the slightly more boisterous of the two. He does like school and his teacher says he is just a bit behind but is likely to catch up. I am just concerned about him particularly coming up to changing schools.
I have heard of a game that is possibly being introduced to aid in the Keystage 2 curriculum called Buccaneers and Lobsters. Apparently it is interactive learning online which is on the National Curriculum guidelines and parents can get involved as well. Has anyone used this at all or heard of it? :)

But what are you actually concerned about? That your DS is behind your DD?????? That he is 'a bit behind but likely to catch up'?????

Hi there, I am concerned that he is behind not just his sister but overall in his class. Sorry perhaps I did not make this clear. He has been having difficulty and the situation is not improving.Do not wish to make a huge issue of it at this stage as he is already aware that his twin is ahead of him. His teacher is not overally concerned but she has been keeping a closer eye.
That is why I was thinking of a visual aid that was fun but a learning tool?

I should add that others in his class are ahead of him also and that his falling behind has considerably worsened the last term.

I've twin boys of 9 years. Literacy seems to come easily to one and numeracy for the other and I wonder if the interactive game would be helpful to them as one thing is certain, they are both incredibly computer savvy ! I'd rather they sat down with a pen and paper and learnt the 'old fashioned' way.

The link to the game is

Thnks for this NYMM. I know kids now are pretty savvy which is why I had thought the computer game may catch his interest. Went in and looked at it... pretty good from first glance. Like the Chris Tyrant's Q&A's
I had never heard of the game until very recently. Will give this a go and see what happens. :)
