Can anyone point me in the direction of the best, clearest site to see what criteria children have to meet to move upwards from a level 2B? Thanks

I found this online. Reading development suggestions for parents moving from level 2B to 2A:

I make few mistakes in my reading
I have lots of different ways to work out a word & when I make a mistake in my reading I re-read to make sense of the text.
When reading aloud I use expression
I can make suggestions about how a story might have ended, change the events or extend the story
I can retell a story clearly with detail
I can talk about how a book is written in presented
I can give reasons as to why I think something might happen & compare my predictions to other books
I can use dictionaries
I am happy to talk about a book and find evidence to support my opinions
I can read longer books silently
I am familiar with chapters, headings, paragraphs, titles and number systems in information books.

Would teachers agree that if a child can do all of these things they would likely be a secure 2A in reading?

In some reading
· range of key words read
on sight
· unfamiliar words decoded
using appropriate
strategies, e.g. blending
sounds
· some fluency and
expression, e.g. taking
account of speech marks,
punctuation
In some reading
· some specific,
straightforward information
recalled, e.g. names of
characters, main
ingredients
· generally clear idea of
where to look for
information, e.g. about
characters, topics
In some reading
· simple, plausible inference
about events and
information, using evidence
from text e.g. how a
character is feeling, what
makes a plant grow
· comments based on textual
cues, sometimes
misunderstood
In some reading
· some awareness of use of
features of organisation,
e.g. beginning and ending
of story, types of
punctuation
In some reading
· some effective language
choices noted, e.g.
??slimy? is a good word
there?
· some familiar patterns of
language identified, e.g.
once upon a time; first,
next, last
In some reading
· some awareness that
writers have viewpoints and
purposes, e.g. ?it tells you
how to do something?, ?she
thinks it?s not fair?
· simple statements about
likes and dislikes in
reading, sometimes with
reasons
In some reading
· general features of a few
text types identified, e.g.
information books,
stories, print media
· some awareness that
books are set in different
times and places

On the right hand side menu are links to pdf files for the different levels. So if your child is a lvl 2a, you would look at lvl 2-3.

This is called APP (assessing pupil's progress) and is what a lot of schools use. It's quite good for seeing the next steps.
