Any ideas for party games for a dozen 6yr olds. Relatively small space!

Treasure Hunt
Obstacle course ( timed )
Musical chairs
Musical statues
Pass the Parcel

We've got pass the parcel on the list and thought of doing a pub quiz with 3 teams and calling it Cub Quiz.

Never heard of some of the other ones like duck, duck, goose and corners. Are they easy to do in a smallish space?

Pin the tail on the donkey

Balloon game where you split the room into 2 halves and put half of the children into each area. children have 2 minutes to try to get all the balloons into the opposite area.

Simon Says

Traffic lights

possibly games with small parachute (depends on space)

Duck duck goose requires all the children to sit in a circle. One child walks round the circle patting (gently!) heads saying "duck", "duck" "duck" as he pats each head. When he says "goose" the child selected must run round the circle and try and catch the "patter"

Corners is a variation of musical chairs where you assign each corner a number or colour. When the music stops, each child picks a corner. You then randomnly select a corner (picking out a bag assures the children of genuine randomness) and everyone in that corner is out.

What time is it Mr Wolf and Sleeping Lions are big favourites in my house.

Laminate photos of TV characters/animals etc. Cut them into six or eight pieces like a jigsaw. distribute the pieces randomly around the room.Give each team or even a child and their partner one piece and then the winner is the team that finds and completes their jigsaw first.
Similar to corners syick a sheet of red, green, yellow and blue paper on each of the four walls. When music stops children run to a colour, party leader has a bag with coloured bricks and the children at the wall of the colour pulled out get a sticker/sweet.
Sitting in a circle a plate containing a big bar of chocolate is passed around until the music stops. Party leader then gives the person with the plate a hat, scarf and mittens and a knife and fork.Child needs to put them on and use the knife and fork to get any chocolate (not much gets eaten Wink and you can share it out at the end of the game).

Oh I was at a party in a pub function room recently where the mum had hidden plastic necklaces, bracelets and chocolate coins round the room. Each kid was given a bag and they did a treasure hunt with a prize going to the winner. It went down a storm.

Not a bad idea Dastardly. Months ago I lost my engagement ring and despite looking everywhere in house, can't find it. This might be a good chance to get lots of little helpers on the trail - as long as it doesn't end up someone's nose if they do find it. Smile
