My dd (6) told me that she was the secret child at school today and is very excited but I do not know what she means. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think this is a behaviour stratragy, one (secret) child is chosen a day and the teacher keeps a special eye on their behaviour. If the behaviour of that child is good the class get a point at the end of the day and they announce who the secret child was. If the behaviour of the secret child is not so good no point for the class but child is not identified.Points will equal a point at the end of the half term. It is used to encourage the class to work as a team for example if someone on their table is being chatty other children will say be quiet you might be the secret child etc.

sorry point will equal a treat at the end of half term.

Ooh, sneaky. And possibly adaptable to a home scenario

Thanks for this. No wonder she was excited. It is good motivation for her and if the child is not good they will not find out so that sounds OK to me.
