Ok, so we got the call, ofsted are in tues and wed. This is by no means my first ofsted, but it is my first one since it changed and is only two days ( i missed the last one due to maternity leave!) any top tips, I keep being told the inspectors like to talk about vulnerable groups which I am fine with as they are being well supported, but anything else ( KS2 btw!)

Thank you

Top Tip.....drum roll......good biscuits. At the very least a mint Viscount.

See previous threads pertaining to this.

Top tip? Be confident and encourage the children to embrace and involve any 'special visitors' they might be lucky enough to host in their lessons.

Tomorrow you can remind the children what their targets are and also that the inspectors may want to know the purpose of a particular activity. Cue lots of practise tomorrow, "so, X.... why do you think Miss Mapp wants you to do this?".

I like the children to think of pieces of work they'd like to show off so that they look forward to the inspectors coming in (and work wonders at sidetracking them).

Stand your ground. Politely of course! During day one, I got the impression that things were not going so well as our inspector looked permanently baffled and made some pretty negative comments. When we talked through data at the end of the day, she gave us a really tough time but we persisted in explaining how we used it to meet the needs of our pupils. We more or less begged her to come back and observe again bearing in mind the discussion. She did and it seems that 'the penny dropped.' She was very positive afterwards; very different to day one. I think she trusted our professionalism and could see what we were trying to achieve - yes really Wink.

Good luck. It'sbloody awfula real chance to show how fantastic you are. I hope you let us know the outcome.

Of course, I can't think why you would bother to take advice from someone who can't even get the strikey out word feature to work
