Fun French for yr1 dd

Any recommendations for a fun French course (book/dvd) for my keen 5 yr-old yr 1 dd? I have a working knowledge of French but my pronunciation is Shock. We would do it together and will probably go to France next summer.

I've seen a lot of ads for Muzzy - is it any good?

I like Skoldo! It's reasonably cheap to get the pupil's book, which comes with a CD. There are lots of songs on it and basic listening exercises. The book has colouring/matching type things to do and teaches 5 words per lesson - numbers, colours, food, drinks, fruit, veg, animals, body parts.

I think Muzzy is very expensive and can't see how just watching a DVD can teach you French! You need to actively engage with a language to master it. When you go to France, it might be helpful to buy a few simple books in French that your DD enjoyed in English (we have The Mole Who Knew it was None of his Business; Elmer's Friends; We're Going on a Bear Hunt and a few others). You can get these from amazon as well.

Thanks - she would love the songs. I'm not over-eager to fork out for Muzzy - I'll take a look at Skoldo.

My dcs love their Jump Ahead French CD-ROM. Their nana found it in a charity shop. It's actually very good - lots of interactive games which have got them both fighting over whose turn it is. They're repeating the french words/sentances as they play so yes they are learning from it.
I'd highly recommend it.

by Knowledge Adventure, Jump Ahead series....from baby age to Year 2.
Compatible with windows 98/95/3.1 (works on my Windows 7).

You might find it on Amazon.

There is a nice Usborne book and also a DVD to accompany it - somethinglike First Fun with French (or similar).

Thanks for all the suggestions - I will check them all out.
