DS is learning about "information reports" and has to "use a newspaper, magazine or internet to find an information report that interests him" (to take into school)............I assume this means bring in an "article" or "report" of interest from the media? Help pleaseGrin.

Yes it does mean that.

be careful though when searching through the paper - certain articles might raise inquisitive questions or might be upsetting.

When I was volunteering in a yr 3/4 class, they did this exercise in class and read the local paper every morning - there were some really unsavoury articles but the teacher hadn't taken them out. I was quite surprised really.

My DDs have both done this topic in primary school. We used articles from the First News newspaper which is specifically aimed at primary aged children. It is on sale weekly in news agents and supermarkets. (I buy it in Sainsburys)

Thanks!..........why don't they just say "newspaper/internet article?......I'm too old for all this coded "speak"Grin.

Yes I remember DD1 doing information reports. I get first news delivered, mine love it, it's very good.

Thanks everyone, I've bought First News a couple of times but at the time I think it was a little beyond DS, I'll try again. We also love Kidz from National Geographic.
