Injury in preschool nursery

Can anyone please tell me if they had expirience with their child being injured/fractured their bone in school?
My son who only started school nursery recently was injured/suffered a fracture yesterday whilst playing outdoors in his nursery school. It wasn't noticed at the time as such but they thought he was poorly and crying. I was called in because they noticed that he was miserable and crying and they thought he was coming with some sort of infection. My question is if there isa legal requirement for one of the staff to be outside with children while their are using both inside and outside space?
Thanks

mrz, sorry to hear about your ankle, that sounds really rubbish. Still think this was more likely down to a junior/poor doctor or a hospital which was trying to cut back on x-ray costs, though.

I was really replying to Cory?s post about whether to take a child to hospital or not rather than what a hospital might or might not do ie an earlier stage in the process, if you like.

goldenticket I would always be much more concerned about a child who was quiet than one who was bawling their eyes out, it?s more likely to indicate shock which in turn is more likely to indicate a serious injury.

Other signs would be, as you say, a marked tendency to favour one arm (or leg), swelling at the impact point, lack of bruising, being off food/drink.

None of these are decisive, of course, but all would be indicators that it was at least worth a trip to the hospital to check it out.

Hope everyone?s DCs are fit and well again now ? until the next time, of course Smile
