AFAIK you can opt your child out of any religious stuff.

Is it a faith school?

I would talk to the school about it as they may have mechanisms for girls of different faiths. My dd is at an all girls Church of England School that allows girls of different faiths to opted out of acts of worship.

You might also find they pick the hymns carefully. My son is muslim and at a private school which has a Christian ethos but a very multicultural background. They tend to pick hymns that refer to God or Lord rather than Jesus e.g "We plough the fields" for harvest "All things bright and beautiful" etc so they can be interpreted more widely than in as strictly Christian sense.

Hopefully you will find that the school is already sensitive to the concerns of parents on these types of issue.

If the school follows the National Curriculum then they are legally obliged to teach Religious Education for KS1 and KS2.

The school has no choice if it follows the NC they must have RE lessons however most schools teach basic information about all world religions rather than focussing on one specific religion.

DC also goes to a private school although it is not a religious school they do read and learn bible stories, but they also learn about other religions, this is KS1. They say grace before they eat, and yes this is a multi cultural school, all different faiths. Don't know your school in question but I believe its very common for private schools to have a Christian Ethos even though they are not religious schools. May be worth talking to the school regarding your concerns.

We are a CofE country, by law our children have to have some sort of collective worship and study RE - which will cover learning about ALL faiths

You can have your child withdrawn from any of the collective worship but not RE (I think)

All schools follow this approach due to the national curriculum

I was surprised when my dcs started at a non-faith primary that they were taught hymns as I assumed that only faith schools did this. However, many years later the children are not remotely affected by having sung a few songs!! I think you are panicking too much - your child is not going to suddenly become CofE because she has heard a couple of hymns.
