1 exhausted ? we decided not to go for Orley as we were not convinced that it was going to be the right environment for our LO. Like you we opted for a school which had a good head, who knew every child in the school , is personable and totally accessible to parents. We felt that it was important for the Head to project the right values, be good role model for the children and is at works with the parents to develop the children.

Hello. I wanted to ask those parents who have girls at QHS whether you will keep them there until they are 11 or will you look at other options at 7+? The school is very nice. We got a sense of great pastoral care. Their boys do extremely well and surely their girls who stay until 11 will do just as well. My other question is that if boys are prepped at 13 then how does this effect the education for the girls when they leave at 11?

Can anyone give me some advice please. We prefer this school for our child over the other schools that we saw such as alpha, orley farm, rediford. Just worried about what happens when the girls reach 7 - 11 years.

Thank you.

Hi yellowishpurple - just a quick comment. How odd that the mum who showed you round St Hilda's Bushey didn't approve of working mothers? I'm a mum there and what I love is that all the parents are very down to earth. We all seem to be stressed working mums making huge sacrifices to put our children through the best schools. I hope you don't mind me commenting, but that mum definitely wasn't representative.

Magzz24 best to start your own thread with a more detailed title e.g "looking for a boys state school in Wimbledon" or whatever - you'll get better results
