What indoor shoes do you use?

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask about indoor shoes; my ds started reception 3 weeks ago and his indoor shoes are already looking awful. The top of the shoe is almost worn through (though the sole looks fine). The shoes are sandshoes from Tesco's.

I mentioned to a girl from work that they were wrecked already and she said she always bought Clarks for her dc, proper shoes but worn only indoors as she thinks they will be worn for 6 hours a day and the children's feet need the support of a proper shoe.

I hadn't even thought of ds's feet, the school list said plimsolls so I bought them!

What do you think? Should I buy proper shoes for the support.

Don't want to damage my ds's perfect feet!

Advice appreciated

I used clarks plimsolls last year and this year dd is using clarks trainers for indoor school use.

No Euphemia it's the school hall they do PE in, I hadn't thought of that.

Seona, do you use trainers for indoor because of the foot support or just because?

Thanks for the replys

trainers seemed a bit sturdier than the plimsolls and I am hoping that they last longer too. Although the Clarks plimsolls were good the velcro strap was a bit worse for wear by the end of term.

Just brought indoor shoe rule in our school. Have resorted to boots for outdoors and school shoes for indoors. Not convinced plimsolls going to provide enough support for the hours he needs to wear them. As an ex teacher I do think that shoe rule ridiculous. Amount time wasted in order to protect carpet is daft. Why not just cover floors in more durable/ child friendly surface?

Trainer shoes from Clarks with velcro, have lasted well.
