I bought some polo's from Next and really like them. After a couple of weeks they look grubby!

So how do you keep your whites...er white?

Oh LOrd - I need to know the answer to this too. I have just bought some Ariel stain spray for the navy bits (on a friend's recommendation) as they had to go through the machine twice this weekend. The polos came out OK but she's only worn them this week.

I used to soak them in Glo White before washing when they started to look a bit dull.

You wash white with white only, ever, and you wash your white at 40° minimum with a good detergent (Ariel) and a scoop of Vanish whitening powder.

agree with bonsoir, dont mix colours and no cold washes - there is a glo white that is designed for net curtains this works better than the one for clothes

Peg them out to dry in the sunshine whenever you can, the sun bleaches them.
Of course I know we don't get alot but even a little helps.

How about washing things that have a bit of colour on them too? Like a rugby shirt?
My DD has a lovely H&M dress that is white printed with green and it's gone a yukky grey colour.
I always use the in wash colour catchers and the white booster sachets but it's just not working here, my whites are not white and my bright colours are always mixing even with colour catchers Angry

Try a hot wash, even with a little colour round the edges of garment.I use 60-95 degree wash. All whites stay white, some of the other colours fade quicker though. But I'd prefer that than grubby whites.
Sometimes the colours on the edges seeem to brighten up too.
