Good quality white polo shirts - do they exist?

I am tired of dingy, grey, curled collar polo shirts. Does anyone do a good quality one that will last a couple of terms without becoming the above?!

I get these in white for my 12-y-o. They are lovely quality. Can't say I've ever had a polo shirt for him that didn't have a curly collar at some point, though...

Thanks VG. Maybe I'll give on the curly collar but not the dingy in a short time especially since I do a whites wash separately. These are pricey relatively speaking but am willing to pay a premium.

They are out there because the ones they sell from DD's school are so, so much better than the ones I'd bought from a supermarket. It really was that false economy thing.
The school ones say 'School Trends' on the label if that's any help.

PL, that's the thing her school ones are pricey (with logo on etc) but are so rubbish. Will look up school trends.

i buy M&S stainaway online - £7 for 3 so good value and they've stayed white. I bought 2 packets that lasted well all last year. I also use bio detergent so I think that helps. They do shrink a bit though so you need to buy a size up. The school ones are vile and went grey almost immediately plus made of some horrid nylon and to cap it all DS got joggers nipple from the embroidery!

My husband usually keeps his white t-shirt white using Ecover Laundry Bleach which you can buy at Waitrose or maybe even Sainsburys, health stores.
www.amazon.co.uk/E-Cover-Ecover-Laundry-Bleach-400g/dp/B0013G8HS2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1283519054&sr=8-2

The powder contains no chlorine and it is indeed very good. I should get a pack again.
My DS has white polo shirts from Asda. They look lovely. His t-shirts from M&S look a bit whiter. His red Asda polo shirts look just perfect.

I wanted to add that cotton t-shirts are better quality than mixed fabric t-shirts. That is why so many bra's and net curtains made of synthetic material loose their colour after washing or shrink.
Buy 100% cotton. Usually schools do not sell 100% cotton made clothes.

I buy Next ones, and I've never had a problem. I do make sure that I only put them in a strict white wash though, and pop in some vanish.

Can also vouch for Ecover laundry bleach, I use it on DH's work shirts, Booths stock it if you are too Northernly for Waitrose. DD fortunatley has red polo shirts.

I don't know about whether the white is as good, but I get my boys polo shirts from Next, and have never had curly collars..despite the fact that I'm not allowed to use an iron due to bad epilepsy. They also last for both boys (can hand them down and they haven't stretched or bobbled), and they come out of the washing machine, I give them a little shake and they're crease-free when they come off the airer. They start at £7.50 for a 3-pack, it goes up to £9.50 for a 3-pack when they get into age 11, which is equivalent to an age 10-11 elsewhere. And they do them in lots of colours (including white, blue, red and yellow). In 8 years of having DC at school, they are the best polo shirts by far.

Haha, everyone is vouching for the quality of Next school polo's! Glad it's not just me that's come to that conclusion.
