had my ds report and was happy with the point scoring but "there's always one" mother who says her dd has 9's bar 2 that she'd scored 8 which she said is exceptional for her age particularly for some areas where no one gets a 9?!

Ive googled but cant find anything

What are you actually looking for?

There aren't any areas where no one gets a 9if you mean nationally but neither are there links to individual/school scoring if that's what you are looking for.

err.not sure what Im looking for but this mother said she had found a site that gave explanations as to each section and what the average scores were....also said that writing - no one ever gets a 9 for this but her daughter did????

DD2 recently got her foundation report. THE SHAME!!! She only scored a 4.6 average. The accompanying letter said a general average of 6-7, summer borns average 5-6. DD2 late August baby so shouldn't be too disappointed. But I am.
Her sister scored mainly 9s a few years ago so I guess my expectations were a little high.
Really not too hung up on it though. She is improving so she's doing OK. Too late to worry TBH. Am just hoping she has a more engaging teacher next year. (Teacher really doesn't seem to appreciate the 'characterful' kids)

For the real geeks - try googling 'statistical first release EYFS 2009'
This will provide last years data by assessment scale, % children scoring which points and a breakdown by Local Authority.
Just remember that it is numbers. It is raw data. It is not information. It is not really an indication of anything useful to the parents of the 4-5 year olds to whom it relates.
The EYFS handbook may provide a bit more assistance, but the whole point of the EYFS assessment is to see how far childen have developed, not necessarily what they have been taught to do. Reception year is about providing opportunities for experience to assist in development of everything from emotions and social development to physical development of body control and co-ordination as well as letters and numbers for reading writing and maths, and to help children get ready for being formally taught.
Does anyone know if there is any national data of APGAR scores of newborns?
