Could tummy aches at nine be the start of puberty?

My 9 year old has had tummy aches now for past 3 days. She's not unwell in the normal tummy bug sense and ruled out appendix and the only thing I'm thinking now is her period.
She has had breast buds growing now for maybe 2 years and pubic hair this past year.
So I am wondering if this is the start of her first period?

I cannot remember how it felt before only how it felt when it actually happened when mine started at 10. (She's 10 in the summer ).

Anyone whose gone through this recently with their kids have any advice on how the days before felt ?

Have you ruled out a UTI? I think it would be worth doing a urine dip if not.

Possible but is there any history of migraine in the family? Children frequently present with stomach pain instead of head pain with migraine.

Constipation?

Periods don’t tend to have three days of cramps before any bleeding, especially not first ones.
Any anxiety?

It could be, the first period is usually about 2 years after breasts start growing. I remember having cramps before my first period.

Thanks all. Gonna take a trip up to the docs to be safe and rule out water infections and see what they think.

My DD had severe stomach cramps, then about two weeks later started her first period, I was wondering if that was ovulation pain?

Been seen by the GP and not a UTI and he's happy with her besides. He did say could be the start of her body getting ready for her period or her tummy hasn't agreed with something in the week and is delicate. So we are trying bland boring foods and skipping dairy as it's heavy on a delicate tum but being mindful that it may also be the start of her first period. Thanks all for your experiences and advice :)

Glad she’s not unwell with a UTI and hopefully she’ll feel a bit better today

I had lots of tummy aches as a child - usually because I was anxious about something happening at school.
