Which sanitary pads?

Daughter 12 started period. Wants to try pads before period knickers.
I've no idea which pad might fit, as they look marketed for adults. She has some lilets teen pads at the moment, but I'm wondering if there was something slightly thicker as she has a heavy flow x

Hi, Lil-Lets do a thicker night time pad in their tween range.
Always platinum are also a good one. How about Applicator Tampons?????

Also came to say lillets. If she's got a heavy flow though I think they always feel quite bulky despite advertising claims.

Ooo thanks. Do you think she is at ok to try with tampons? This would help her but I was worried she was too young. X

I'd offer her a few small ones to try and see what she things. A lot of people prefer the applicator ones but personally I found the very little lillet non applicator ones easier at that age. Bit grim, but she's probably find it easier to put them in with a heavier flow as they won't catch.

I started using Always when I was 12 and never felt they were too bulky or anything.

My DD uses always platinum (has to be the platinum ones 😂).

They are a game changer
I was pretty much forced into using them almost from the start as I did a lot of sport including swimming. Also it is good to get her used to them before holidays season starts if you are planning a trip anywhere with a pool or beach.

Depends on your dd . If she is big/tall, preteen pads may be too small. I’d get a variety and see what she prefers.

We've gone straight to period knickers as she's still in primary school and it removes the worry of having to change in school. They've been good so far. If you want to stick to pads I'd buy a range depending on her flow and let her pick. I wouldn't encourage her to try tampons unless she wants to herself and is going to be ok with getting them in and out at school.

Good to know. I was worried they would be too big as they are adults ones but maybe ok then. X

13 - I started with the non applicator ones too but one I decided to 'have a go' with an applicator one and saw how easy they were to use.
I personally hate sanitary towels and the thought of period pants makes me shudder. It is like sitting in your own bodily fluids and I never feel clean.

They'll be fine. You don't get children's sanitary pads. If she's started her periods she'll be no smaller than a lot of small women. They are based on absorbency, not size of the person.
